On August 17, 2017, the Young Entrepreneurs Society Philippines or YES Philippines, in partnership with EntrepRadio and Pen Brothers, organized a seminar entitled “Passion-Driven Enterprises”. This 3-hour seminar was aimed towards a mindset shift from going into business being motivated by money to going into business being motivated by passion and purpose. The seminar featured none other than Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo "The VoiceMaster" Gonzales – the most recognized Filipino voice artist, veteran radio broadcaster, internationally-awarded youth advocate, author, and a highly sought-after voice director, trainer and motivational speaker. Pocholo is also a Go Negosyo awardee and Angelpreneur, and the founder of Youth Entrepreneurship Academy of the Philippines (YEAP).

The seminar opened with EntrepRadio’s main anchor and YEAP Executive Director Dennis Sajo, who introduced their advocacy in igniting the entrepreneurial spirit of the youth. He also shared his own experience on how his own passion for speaking and motivating people has led him to cross paths with the VoiceMaster, and how he grabbed the opportunity to host the show and head YEAP when the opportunity was opened to him. Dennis then introduced and called on the VoiceMaster onstage, whom he referred to as his mentor and brother.

Pocholo started his talk by energizing the crowd and getting acquainted with them. He shared the story of his entrepreneurial journey, from the time he started working as a freelance voice artist until he opened his first recording studio, Univoicesal Productions. He told the participants how his first business venture failed, costing him 2 million pesos worth of investment after 6 months. Learning from his mistakes, he attempted to start a smaller recording studio in 2005, which is now what is known as Creativoices Productions.

After entertaining and mesmerizing the audience with his voice acting talent by doing a repertoire of character voices, Pocholo then shared that PASSION and PURPOSE are the 2 key ingredients not only in building a successful business, but also in being able to persist amidst trials and challenges. “Just do what you love and the money will follow,” was the wise advice of the VoiceMaster. He also said that knowing why you are doing your business in the first place guides the entrepreneur as he builds and grows his enterprise.

Pocholo then led the group through a quick workshop on how they can identify their passion that can be turned into a business. He asked them to list 5 things that they are interested in, then choose 3 that they feel they are passionate about. He defined passion as something that someone would be willing to do everyday even if they are not getting paid to do it. He then shared different methods on how those passions can be made into a business – creating a product or service, creating a digital product or even teaching the skill to other people.

The seminar ended with Pocholo inviting the participants to volunteer and become part of EntrepRadio and YEAP, which he founded for young aspiring entrepreneurs.

The Philippine Center for Entreprenuership (PCE), more popularly known as Go Negosyo, was represented by one of its awardees and Angelpreneurs – Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales. At age 25, he started his own voiceover services company, Creativoices Productions. Having mastered the art of voice acting, he envisioned the Philippines to become the center of voiceover excellence in Asia, and went on to build the first and only voice acting school in the country, the Philippine Center for Voice Acting. Since 2005, the school has produced more than a thousand graduates, and gave an opportunity to aspiring voice artists to get into what was once an elusive industry.

In 2009, Pocholo was awarded as Go Negosyo’s Most Inspiring Bataeno Microentrepreneur. His achievements in the voice acting industry, coupled with his life-long advocacy to inspire and empower the youth made him a perfect fit to be the resource speaker at the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit.

Pocholo’s main advocacy on Youth Entrepreneurship is centered on helping young people build what he calls a “passion-driven business.” His life and business is a perfect testimony of how building a business based on one’s life purpose is the best way to thrive as an entrepreneur. He believes that if you create a business for the purpose of making MEANING instead of making MONEY, the business becomes a vehicle to live one’s full potential while bringing value to others and the world.

During the first half of the summit, Pocholo came onstage to speak about “Unlocking the Entrepreneurial Mindset.” He talked about the 12 qualities of a person who thinks like an entrepreneur, like “being focused,” “committing to their why,” and “knowing how to prioritize.” He believes that everyone has to think, act and live like an entrepreneur, focused on serving others with their greatest passion and highest skill.

After lunch, the VoiceMaster spoke on another topic, “How to Invest in the Right Business.” He started by sharing the staggering statistics that 50% of startups fail within 1 year, and 96% never get to survive to a decade.  He challenged the participants to reframe their mindset regarding business – to ask the right questions and seek the right answers. He advised the participants to go beyond starting a business that is trending or money-generating, but instead start a business that will enable them to express the best version of themselves. To better help the students start their entrepreneurial journey, Pocholo also led the participants to an activity where they choose their passion and skills from a list of many possible talents that they may possess.

He inspired the audience to lead their dreams by setting an example of a young person who went for the opportunities that came to him.

The VoiceMaster with the other Speakers and STI Events Manager Mhel Garrido

Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales spoke in both the morning and afternoon sessions in his 4th leg at the NYC. With his topic “The Innovator’s Creativity,” the VoiceMaster focused his talk on how innovation is not just about coming up with new ideas, but also having the MINDSET of an innovator. The innovator mindset is one where a person is always curious, and always on the lookout for opportunities to do things in a different way. He challenged the students to “remove the box” instead of just thinking outside of it. “When you remove the box, you will only see endless opportunities to make things better.”

Being the inspirational speaker that he is, the VoiceMaster inspired the crowd with his own personal story on innovation, especially how he has established himself as the VoiceMaster of the Philippines. He shared his struggles when he was starting out as a voice artist, and how the challenges he faced ignited a passion in him to be the one that opens the voice acting world to those who aspire to become part of it. He spoke about his voice acting school, his youth advocacies, and his travels around the Philippines to speak to the youth. “I’m sharing this not to brag, but to motivate you to do something great for yourself and other even if you’re still young. You need to do something today that your future self will thank you for” were the wise words from the VoiceMaster.

Of course, the VoiceMaster’s talk would not be complete without the entertaining showcase of his character voices and a barrage of “hugot lines” that left the audience energized all throughout.

The VoiceMaster Teaches Human Superpowers in ‘One Right Direction’

One hundred young adults – students and young professionals – filled the roofdeck of Prestige Tower Condominium in Ortigas on February 13, 2016 for the 3rd year of “One Right Direction”. This event aims to educate people who would like to build and explore various income sources, specifically on investing their money in the stock market.

Three motivational speakers were featured in the event to share their expertise not only in business, but also on personal development. The first speaker was trainer, author and sales coach Veni Flores of Money Masters Club. Veni shared the process of achieving goals in a simple and easy-to-understand roadmap. He also inspired the audience to act because, he said, that acting upon one’s desire is the first step to getting to their destination.

The VoiceMaster Speaks about the 10 Great Powers to Become a Real-Life Superhero

The second speaker was Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales – CEO of Creativoices Productions, and founder of Pochology Academy. Pocholo shared what he calls the “10 Great Powers” that would help anyone achieve their dreams. He began his talk by sharing his own personal journey as an entrepreneur, and how his love and talent for the voice made him who he is today. The 10 great powers he shared included self-confidence, purpose, and extraordinary performance. To the VoiceMaster, it all boils down to how a person builds his SELF-WORTH, instead of his NET WORTH, that would determine his success in life.

Last but not the least is Pesos and Sense founder Aya Laraya, who gave an informative talk about the stock market, and what aspiring investors need to know. He emphasized the need to seek professional advice when it comes to financial investments instead of simply reading articles online that may not even apply to their locale or level. Aya also gave a simplified explanation on the benefit of purchasing stocks, and how to wisely choose which companies to invest in.

Before the closing and final photo op, the country’s youngest motivational speaker – 10-year-old Patrick Gabriel Gonzales (son of the VoiceMaster) – amazed the audience by sharing his own insights on investing. In a short and sweet talk, Patrick motivated the audience by encouraging them to believe in themselves, that they have greatness within them and that they all have the power to succeed.

Pochology Academy was invited to speak on the last day of the Business Week. Pochology Academy founder, Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales, inspired and motivated the 300+ students in attendance with his talk entitled “Passion-Driven Work.” He started his talk by introducing what he does especially with his voice, and how he has used it to inspire other people to do what they love and love what they do. He also talked about his hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, whom he looks up to in terms of motivating and empowering the youth. Of course, the audience found themselves entertained with the VoiceMaster’s quirks, jokes and a whole ensemble of character voices. Above all, he drove the point home regarding what it means to be successful in life. “Most people think that being successful is all about being rich or famous. But for me, success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal or ideal. Simply put, as long as you know what you’re doing, why you’re doing it and where you are going… you are already a success.”

After the VoiceMaster’s empowering talk, Ada Cuaresma came up onstage to do a mini-workshop with the participants regarding professionalism in the workplace. Ada started her talk by defining professionalism, and how it’s a set of characteristics that make up a quality worker, and not just about physical image or first impression. She focused her talk on the main skill that needs to be developed by any professional – COMMUNICATION. The participants did a couple of exercises on communication.
