Pochology Academy Hosts Miss Masbate Province 2017 Talent Competition

On April 19, Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo "The VoiceMaster" Gonzales hosted the Ms. Masbate Province 2017 Talent Competition, together with the Voice Care Queen, Ada Cuaresma. Fifteen beautiful and talented Masbatenas vied for the Ms. Masbate Province crown, which was awarded in 2016 to former Pinoy Big Brother “housemate,” Kisses Delavin.



Hundreds of Masbatenos, young and old, flocked to the Mabate Provincial Capitol to witness the Talent Competition. The event opened with the introduction of the candidates and the Board of Judges. Pocholo energized the crowd by showcasing his own talent in voice acting, and doing a repertoire of character voices, as well as voice impressions of famous politicians and celebrities. The crowd was left amazed and in awe as he performed a one-man radio drama from one of the classics, Gabi ng Lagim.

Inspirational messages were shared by Masbate’s Vice Governor, Atty. Kaye Revil, and Congresswoman Olga Kho. Both of them reminded the audience that the pageant is not just a competition, but also a reminder of what it means to be a true Masbateno.



One by one, the Ms. Masbate Province candidates took the stage to showcase various talents. Some candidates performed different kinds of dances, while others did an acting monologue. Other candidates showcased unique talents such as painting, karate and baton twirling. The Board of Judges tabulated the scores to award the top 3 Best in Talent.

The Talent Competition also featured the final walk of the reigning Ms. Masbate Province – former PBB Housemate Kisses Delavin. Pocholo entertained the crowd once more by doing a voice impression of Kuya, as Big Brother is more popularly known.



After her walk, she remained onstage for a quick interview by the hosts. Kisses shared a very inspiring message, on achieving and never giving up on one’s dreams. She also assured the audience that she would always look forward to coming home to Masbate no matter where her dreams may take her. In this tangent, Pocholo also shared his own words of wisdom as a Filipino motivational speaker, and challenged the audience to not only be inspired, but to become an inspiration to their fellow Filipinos as well.

The Ms. Masbate Province 2017 Pageant Night happened on April 21, where the winners were crowned – Ms. Monreal Rose Lagamayo as 2^nd Runner Up, Ms. Placer Rose Marie Barrun as 1^st Runner Up, and Ms. Uson Vanna Vefsie Discaya as Ms. Masbate Province 2017.

The Pochologist Inspires Marketing Management Students of Rizal Technological University

Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales spoke last March 9 at “ELEVATE: Marketers Explore the Digital World,” an event organized by the Marketing Management students of Rizal Technological University in Mandaluyong City. Over 100 participants attended the seminar for a whole-day event of fun and learning about marketing in the age of the internet and social media.



Pocholo’s talk started at a high energy, as he began with an icebreaker and humorous stories. He introduced his presentation about Personal Branding by telling the story of how he built his brand as the VoiceMaster. He shared his humble beginnings in the voice acting industry, and also the challenges he met while he was starting out. He also talked about his journey to creating the first and only voice acting school in the country, to open the doors of the voice acting industry to those who have the passion and commitment to learn the craft.



Pocholo also spent a large part of his presentation to speak about national hero Dr. Jose Rizal, whom he considers as “one of the greatest branding experts.” Pocholo told the audience that Rizal was the first who coined the term “Filipino,” thus setting the standards for excellence and greatness in the country. He shared a lot of trivia about Rizal – his writings, his travels, and even the foods he ate – and challenged the students to utilize their resources in order to discover their own greatness.

Pocholo then transitioned to his talk on Personal Branding. He shared how he has not only branded himself in the field of voice acting, but also in his advocacy and his career as a Filipino motivational speaker. He told the students that branding is not just about “creating” a name, but more importantly, embodying what the brand stands for. For Pocholo, branding is all about discovering one’s passion and purpose, and dedicating the rest of your life to it.



During the last part of his talk, Pocholo spoke about legacy, and encouraged the audience to “do something today that your future self will thank you for.”

The Pochologist Inspires Job Seekers at the Manila Bulletin Job Fair

Hundreds of job seekers flocked the Skydome of SM North EDSA for Manila Bulletin Classifieds Job Fair 2017, held on March 7-8. Companies in various industries such as BPO, real estate, food and apparel were featured in the job fair to select and hire their next employees. A free seminar was also conducted in the stage area, where Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was one of the speakers.



Pocholo was the first speaker on the first day of the job fair. He started by introducing his work, and shared a little bit about the voice acting industry where he started at the young age of 16. Pocholo showed a video about his company, Creativoices Productions, and told the audience the story of how he opened the first and only voice acting school in the country.

Pocholo also went on to share the challenges he met when he was starting out in his profession. He talked about the several times he was rejected in auditions, the frustrations he encountered with veteran voice artists who seem to have monopolized the industry, and even those who have discouraged him from becoming a voice artist. Pocholo said that those challenges propelled him to move forward, to the point that it became his life mission to help others reach for their dreams – which is why he became a youth advocate and also a sought-after Filipino motivational speaker.



Pocholo’s inspiring story became his transition to talk about the lesson he wanted to impart to the job seekers – and that is to have PASSION in their chosen work. He challenged the audience to find work that would enable them to express their passion and talent, and not just to find the job that is available, in-demand or will pay well. “I don’t know any of you here, but I know that each one of you has greatness inside,” were the empowering words of the VoiceMaster. So he encouraged the audience to dedicate their life to the kind of work that will let their greatness shine.

Pocholo then talked about “8 to be great,” or the 8 qualities that make a person great. He told the audience that passion, purpose, sharing, faith, opportunity, among many others all contribute to discovering one’s potential and greatness.



Pocholo ended his talk with the reality check that life has an end, which is why it is crucial for everyone to maximize their present in order to fulfill their life purpose, and leave a legacy behind.

The Pochologist Empowers Young Taclobanons at the 1st Youth Entrepreneurship Summit

Over 500 students from various schools all over Leyte filled the gymnasium of Eastern Visayas State University in Tacloban for its 1^st Youth Entrepreneurship Summit. Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was invited as one of the speakers to this event held last March 3. With the theme “Drive and Ambition: Edgewise Virtues of Entrepreneurs to Nation Transformation,” the summit was organized to equip the students with the tools to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.



As an advocate for youth entrepreneurship, Pocholo shared his experience about starting out as a young entrepreneur in building his company, Creativoices Productions. Recognizing the fact that building a business – especially at a young age – can be risky, challenging and difficult. This is why Pocholo rallies that people should build what he calls “passion-driven business”. With his love for the art of voice acting, Pocholo is the perfect example who created a business out of passion, and not just something that’s lucrative or in-demand. For Pocholo, passion is the fuel that would keep you waking up in the morning to work on your business, knowing that it’s something that you love.

Pocholo also talked about his passion for empowering the youth, which led him to become a youth advocate and then eventually a sought-after motivational speaker in the Philippines. As a Go Negosyo Awardee and Angelpreneur, Pocholo founded Negosyo Kabataan, in which he also established the Youth Entrepreneurship Academy. He posed the challenge to the audience to look at entrepreneurship as a venue to be able to contribute to positive social change, and not just as a means to become rich.



Pocholo also spoke about Dr. Jose Rizal, and how he sees the national hero as the epitome of Filipino greatness and excellence. With his vast knowledge about Rizal’s history, Pocholo encouraged the audience to raise their standards and aim for greatness the way that Rizal did. He also emphasized that the youth should not only be the “hope of the future,” but more importantly, the realization of the present.



In the end, Pocholo left the audience with his Pochology (Pocholo’s words of wisdom): “Availability is the best ability.” He told the participants that he himself grabbed the opportunities that come his way, and that made all his achievements possible, both in his business and his advocacy. He encouraged the students to become an inspiration to their fellow youth by pursuing their heart’s desire and creating a business that will ultimately serve and make an impact.

The Pochologist Inspires Student Leaders of Naga

Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales spoke at the Regional Leadership Congress 2017 held on February 26 at the Camarines Sur National High School in Naga City. With the theme “Young Minds in Motion: Leadership by Service – Act. Plan. Dream. Believe,” the event creates a platform for the 100 student leader participants to realize their capacity to support Philippines 2030 on youth development.



Pocholo was the first speaker of the event. In his talk entitled “The Future Filipino: Be an Inspiration,” Pocholo talked about how today’s youth can be an inspiration to their fellow youth. He started by sharing his own story of how at a young age, he discovered his passion and talent in voice acting, which became his starting point of building his brand as the VoiceMaster. Pocholo also talked about how he became a youth advocate, and how he eventually became a Filipino motivational speaker with his desire to inspire and empower the people around him.

Pocholo talked about his journey as a youth advocate. He talked about the orgnization he founded, Voice of the Youth Network, and how he has empowered his fellow youth by giving them a voice on issues that affect them. Pocholo also talked about how he looks up to national hero Dr. Jose Rizal as the epitome of Filipino greatness and excellence. He shared a lot of stories about Rizal – his travels, his books, the love of his life – and challenged the audience to put themselves in high standards in living their life.



Pocholo also talked about his career as a voice artist. He showed the audience the projects he has been involved in – commercials, anime, video games – and even amazed the audience by performing a live one-man radio drama of his childhood favorite, Gabi ng Lagim. He also made the crowd go wild by doing his voice impressions of famous cartoon characters and celebrities.

On a serious note, Pocholo then shared what he calls “8 to be Great” – which are the 8 things that a person must have in order to become great. He talked about passion, faith, purpose, and opportunity, among many others, that would propel a person to his/her greatness. He then encouraged the audience to pay it forward by sharing this learning to their fellow youth.

The Pochologist Inspires Business Management Students in Legazpi, Albay

Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was the main resource speaker of “STRATA IX: Building Global Competence: The Progress of the New Millennium”. The whole-day event was organized by the College of Business Management and Accountancy - Student Council of Aquinas University of Legazpi in Albay. Over 400 Business students from various colleges and universities attended the event to learn about business and global competitiveness.



Pocholo started his presentation by energizing the audience with an icebreaker. He then shared the story of how he has developed himself into what he calls a “global citizen” – starting young as a professional voice artist, radio broadcaster, and eventually into being a highly sought-after Filipino motivational speaker. He talked about the challenges and obstacles he met along the way, and how he overcame those to become the person he is today.

Pocholo also spoke about Dr. Jose Rizal, whom he considers to be the epitome of the greatness and excellence of a Filipino. He told the story of Rizal’s travels, his books, his childhood, and his challenges that ignited his own inner revolution for freedom. Pocholo challenged the students to embody the ideals and principles of Rizal, and to use the resources they have right now to become great people.



Pocholo also talked about his journey in the voice acting industry, as well as his company, Creativoices Productions. He talked about his vision of making the Philippines as the center of voiceover excellence in Asia, and how this vision led him to establish the first and only voice acting school in the Philippines. Pocholo also left the audience in awe as he showcased his voice acting talent, with his voice impressions of famous cartoon characters and celebrities. Pocholo’s accomplishments in the voice acting industry has also spilled over his career as a Filipino motivational speaker, as his story served as the perfect example to build a “passion-driven business.”

Pocholo’s main topic was about the future of entrepreneurship, where he highlighted the importance of building a business based on passion, and not just a business that will make profit. He encouraged the students to identify what they are passionate about and discover their life purpose, and then come up with an idea to turn that into a business. Pocholo’s main premise is that one should become an entrepreneur with the intention of serving and leaving a legacy behind, instead of just making money.



In the end, Pocholo left a powerful message to his audience by challenging the students to act on their passion right now, with whatever resources they have. He encouraged them to maximize their youth, and to “do something today that your future self will thank you for.”

The Pochologist Inspires the Youth of Batangas City Towards Greatness and Excellence

The Bachelor of Elementary Education students of St. Bridget College, Batangas City conducted a seminar entitled “Inspiring Greatness and Excellence in Every Filipino Youth” on February 20, 2017. Around 500 students from various universities and colleges in Batangas City filled the school auditorium for an afternoon of fun, learning and inspiration.



Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales – also known as the “Pochologist” – was invited as the resource speaker for the seminar. Pocholo came onstage after some introduction and opening remarks. He started his talk with an icebreaker to set his audience off at a high energy. He told the story of his 20-year journey in the voice acting industry. He shared how he won a competition on radio when he was 16 years old, and how this win jumpstarted his career as a voice artist. He also shared to the students the struggles and challenges he met along the way, and how he used those to fuel his personal life mission to make other people better and happy with his talents and skills.

Pocholo talked about Dr. Jose Rizal, whom he considers to be the epitome of Filipino greatness and excellence. He took the students down memory lane as he shared interesting tidbits about the life of Rizal. He encouraged the audience to learn more about our national hero, and learn to imbibe his standards of excellence.



Pocholo then gave the audience a sneak peak of his voice acting career. He got the crowd roaring wild as he did voice impression upon voice impression – of cartoon characters, commercials, and famous personalities. He also performed an excerpt of his favorite childhood radio drama, Gabi ng Lagim, and did the voices of all the characters.

Pocholo then transitioned into inspiring the audience, to take the time to discover their passion and purpose. He challenged them to move beyond the goal of making money, and instead pursue things for the purpose of meaning. “Don’t just aim to be happy. Aim to be GREAT,” Pocholo said, as he shared what he calls “8 to be Great.” He talked about the 8 things that make people great, and how the students can unlock the greatness that is within them.



Towards the end, Pocholo challenged the students to commit to a lifelong quest to discover their purpose and dedicate their life to making other people better and happy.

Voice of the Youth Network Rocks Marinduque State College in their Youth Empowerment Summit

About 200 students filled the covered court of Marinduque State College for a Youth Empowerment Summit held last February 16. The audience were a mix of Communication and English majors in MSC’s School of Arts and Sciences, as well as some Senior High students. The summit’s goal is to hone the youth to become involved and empowered in creating positive social change.

The whole-day event was graced with the presence of Voice of the Youth Network – the volunteer youth media organization that informs, inspires, involves and empowers the Filipino youth through radio broadcasting and ICT. There were a total of 4 speakers during the event, led by its founder, Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales.



After the opening ceremony, the VoiceMaster came onstage with his energizing, entertaining, and inspiring talk. He started off with an icebreaker, and went on to tell the story of how he became a youth advocate at the young age of 16. He talked about the challenges that he faced as a young professional voice artist, and his defeat in the Sangguniang Kabataan election, that led him to establish VOTY. Pocholo wanted to give young people a voice on issues that affect them, and to give them an opportunity to inspire and empower their fellow youth.

The VoiceMaster then entertained the audience with a series of hugot lines, and his voice impersonation of famous characters and celebrities, dead and alive! He also did the voices of the cartoon and telenovela characters he has voiced, including Cyborg Kuro-Chan and San Cai’s father in Meteor Garden. After which, the VoiceMaster went on with his inspiring message, as he challenged the young people to discover their purpose and live a life of greatness and excellence. He ended his talk with a powerful message to “claim” one’s desire, as he gave away a copy of his book, “Gusto Kong Maging Voice Talent,” to one of the participants.



The afternoon session was also filled with fun and inspiration as 3 more VOTY members took the stage with their own motivational talks. First up was VOTY’s Head Secretariat, Ada Cuaresma. In her talk, Ada shared how she gave up her quest for money after spending over a decade in the corporate world, to pursue her calling to become a motivational speaker. She emphasized what the VoiceMaster has shared earlier about finding one’s passion, and gave the participants more time to reflect on the questions that would lead them to discover their purpose. Ada also talked about nurturing one’s relationships, on how trust is very important in order to build personal and professional relationships. Lastly, she talked about developing one’s abilities in order to succeed in pursuing their passion.



Kelvin Lomibao was the next speaker. Kelvin is a voice artist, motivational speaker, and the host of Voice of the Youth Radio, VOTY’s flagship radio program. He talked about how to have a positive mindset, and gave the students tips on how to develop one. Kelvin talked about gratitude, and “positive mental foods” to help the students raise their consciousness and have a positive perception in their life. Kelvin got the crowd going wild as he did his own repertoire of voice impressions of more than 20 characters. He also shared the stage with fellow VOTY broadcaster and voice artist, Jomel Wequiz, who shared his own experience as a VOTY member, and impressed the crowd with his talent as a “human echo.”

The Youth Empowerment Summit ended with a putong for the guest speakers, Marinduque’s traditional song and dance for welcoming visitors to their hometown.

The Pochologist Speaks about Passion-Driven Business in Baler, Aurora

Over 500 Business students filled the Sentro Baler covered court for the 6^th Business Students’ Summit. It was organized by the Business Administration Department of Mount Carmel College of Baler, Aurora, with the theme “Divergent Leadership Toward Convergence.” The summit was held to continuously improve the quality of business education in the province to prepare the youth for the competitive global business landscape.



Mr. Pochology, Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales, was invited to close off the event with a motivational talk. Pocholo shared his experience and expertise in starting out as a young entrepreneur who built a business based on his passion for and gift of VOICE. At the young age of 16, he started his professional voice acting career, and went on to establish the first and only voice acting school in the country, the Philippine Center for Voice Acting, nine years after.

In his talk, Pocholo shared how he started his entrepreneurial journey, including the challenges and obstacles that he had to overcome in order for his business to survive past the proverbial “10-year mark” of a business. This became his transition to talk about having PASSION in building a business, which for him became his primary fuel to keep his business thriving. Pocholo challenged the students to shift their mindset about getting into business, from earning a living to giving value.



“Many people ask the wrong question when they think about starting a business,” was the bold statement of the VoiceMaster. He said that instead of asking which business will earn money, one should ask which business will enable a person to use his talents and skills to SERVE others. This is exactly how he revolutionized the voice acting business with his school. Instead of setting up his voiceover company to make more money from projects, he set it up to give opportunities to aspiring voice artists to get into the industry.

Pocholo also engaged the students in an activity to help them uncover their passions and talents that could spark their very first business idea. He gave them a formula on how they can narrow down their interests to those that they see themselves doing for the long-term, instead of just getting into what’s trending in the internet and social media.



Towards the end of his talk, Pocholo also encouraged the participants to take action, as none of what they have learned in the seminar will work unless they actually apply them.

As an entrepreneur, Pocholo was awarded as one of Go Negosyo’s Most Inspiring Entrepreneurs in 2009, and has since then has become one of their “Angelpreneurs.” He is also one of the country’s primary advocate of Youth Entrepreneurship, as he has founded the Youth Entrepreneurship Academy, to provide training and mentoring programs for aspiring young entrepreneurs.

The VoiceMaster Inspires Business and Hospitality Management Students in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro

The Divine Word College of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro, held its 4^th Business Summit on February 3, 2017 at the DWCC Gymnasium. Over 600 Business Management and Hospitality Management students participated in the event, to learn more about social entrepreneurship and innovation. In relation to the event’s theme, “Social Entpreneurship: Paving the Way for Millennium Supremacy,” a lineup of resource speakers were invited to speak about topics such as media, ethics and entrepreneurial responsibility.



Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was invited to talk about the role of media in promoting social entrepreneurship. As a Go Negosyo Angelpreneur and a Youth Entrepreneurship advocate, Pocholo shared his experience in building what he calls “passion-driven businesses”. He started by sharing the story of how as early as the age of seven, he discovered his skills and passion for voice acting, and found himself pursuing the craft almost a decade after when he won a contest in DZMM. He also talked about his extensive experience in Broadcast Media, not only as a broadcaster and radio drama artist in DZMM, but also as the founder of the largest Youth Media organization in the country, the Voice of the Youth Network.

Pocholo talked about how radio broadcasting enabled him to spread his advocacy for youth empowerment, and how it opened the doors for him to get into the world of voice acting. He also talked about the challenges and frustrations he met in the industry, until he built his own voiceover services company, Creativoices Productions. Pocholo also shared how his frustrations fueled his passion for the craft, and led him to build the first and only voice acting school in the Philippines.



Pocholo transitioned to talk about the importance of the voice, and how it is the most valuable instrument that we have as human beings. He set himself as the perfect example as someone who has maximized his voice not only to share his talent, but to also motivate and empower others to do the same. He then encouraged the participants to find their own voice – a.k.a. their PURPOSE – so that they can live a fulfilling life and not be stuck in a viscious cycle of working day in and day out just to earn money.

This discussion about finding one’s purpose was Pocholo’s segue to share his topic which he calls “8 to be GREAT” – or the 8 qualities that lead a person to become great. According to Pocholo, everyone should not only aim for happiness but also for greatness, to leave the world better than how we found it. He talked about having passion, availability, attitude of sharing and gratitude, and courage in order be able to build a business that will not only make money, but also make meaning.

The VoiceMaster Inspires Young Rotarians in the Rotary Youth Leadership Award

The Rotaract Club of Taal-Lemery hosted the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards held on January 27-29 at the Little Bridge Resort in Taal, Batangas. Over 200 delegates spent 3 days of fun and experiential learning about transformational leadership through games and motivational talks. The participants came from various Rotaract Club chapters, including some foreign delegates from Canada, France and Switzerland.



Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was invited for a motivational talk to cap off the last day of the camp. The VoiceMaster started his hour-long talk with high energy, as he brought the audience to laughter with his repertoire of character voices and hugot lines. He also talked about his journey as a voice artist, radio broadcaster, youth advocate, and motivational speaker, and how he has used the gift of his voice to inspire, motivate and empower those around him.

The VoiceMaster also talked about Dr. Jose Rizal, whom he considers to be the epitome of Filipino greatness and excellence. He challenged the audience bring out their greatness through their skills and talents, especially now that their generation have better tools and technology compared to Rizal! He also gave the participants an assignment to reflect on 3 simple but life-changing questions: 1) Where have you been, 2) Why are you here, and 3) Where are you going?

With those three questions, the VoiceMaster then transitioned to talk about leadership. He quoted his favorite definition of leadership, the kind that is anchored on passion and integrity. For him, leading others is not possible without first leading one’s self, so it’s important that the leader knows of his true intention and desire to lead others towards greatness and success. The VoiceMaster talked about the importance of discovering one’s life purpose, and how doing so will enable them to be a source of inspiration and motivation to their fellow youth. He shared his own experiences on how he has succeeded in leading others because he was true to his own personal mission to make other people better and happy using his skills and talents.



At the end of his talk, he inspired the participants to pursue their dreams by giving a copy of his book, “Gusto Kong Maging Voice Talent” to a member of the audience, who shared his dream of becoming a voice artist and a broadcaster someday.

The day ended with the awarding ceremony for the games and group activities.

The VoiceMaster Inspires Broadcasting Students at the PUP Radio Conference 2017

The Young Communicators Guild – the official radio organization of Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Communication – organized the PUP Radio Conference 2017 on January 27. With the theme “IGNITE ME: The Art of Radio Broadcasting in the Social Media Era,” the conference featured speakers who are exemplary contributors to the radio broadcasting arena. Over 200 Broadcasting students from PUP and nearby universities participated in the event, which was held at the PUP COC Theater.



Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was one of the speakers during the event. As the pioneer of Youth Media in the country, Pocholo shared how radio broadcasting opened the doors for him to become who he is today – the most recognized voice artist, internationally-awarded youth advocate, and a highly sought-after motivational speaker, especially for young people. He recalled how he won DZMM’s radio drama and singing contest back in 1996, which earned him a slot on AM radio as a radio drama talent, scriptwriter, anchor and one of the directors. Pocholo talked about his frustrations and challenges in the beginning, and how those challenges led him his personal life mission to be the one to open the doors for talented young people to express their passion and talent.

Pocholo then introduced his advocacy organization Voice of the Youth Network (VOTY), a volunteer youth organization that gives the Filipino youth a voice on issues that affect them through radio broadcasting and ICT. With its mission to inform, inspire, involve and empower young people, VOTY has produced over 20 radio programs all over the Philippines, including its provincial chapters such as Sorsogon, General Santos, Lanao, and Bataan. Through their radio programs and online platforms, VOTY has become a venue for thousands of young people to do their part in contributing to positive social change.



Pocholo emphasized the importance of giving people the venue and the opportunity to share their skills and become an inspiration to their fellow youth. This is why aside from sharing his airtime to aspiring broadcasters in his shows, he also shared the stage with them. He called onstage three of his anchors – DJ Kelvin, DJ Denn and DJ Jomel – who inspired the students to volunteer their time and effort to pursue their dreams of broadcasting. They took turns sharing how joining VOTY has allowed them not only to be heard, but to also enhance their skills and confidence in communication. And, as the VoiceMaster would have done, they also did their own ‘sample’ of character voices they can imitate.

At the end of his talk, Pocholo gave away a copy of his book, “Gusto Kong Maging Voice Talent” to the person in the audience who courageously went onstage to “get it.” This gesture led to a powerful close for the VoiceMaster, as he challenged them to go out and CLAIM what the believe life has reserved for them.



The PUP Radio Conference also featured other radio personalities including Zhander Cayabyab of DZMM, Tere Gonzales of Radyo Inquirer, and John Gemperle or more popularly known as Papa Jack.

The VoiceMaster Trains Pharmaceutical Students on Public Speaking

On January 25, the University of the Philippines Pharmaceutical Association (UPPHA) of the University of the Philippines Manila held its first ever public speaking seminar entitled “Beyond Say”. This half-day seminar focused on developing the communication skills of Pharmacy students through public speaking and social media. It was held at the auditorium of the College of Pharmacy, and was attended by around 50 students, particularly those who are graduating from the course.

Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was invited to do the public speaking workshop. The participants were in for a treat as the VoiceMaster did not only teach the basics of public speaking, but also demonstrated it during his own presentation.



Pocholo started with an introduction of the VoiceMaster – who he is, and how he uses the power of his voice to convey powerful and meaningful messages through public speaking. He told the story of his journey as a voice artist, a broadcaster, and a youth advocate, and how his experiences made him discover his calling as a motivational speaker. Of course, he didn’t disappoint as he showcased his repertoire of character voices – from famous cartoon characters to famous celebrities.

The VoiceMaster also motivated the students as he talked about passion, greatness and excellence. He talked about the National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, and how he was accomplished noteworthy things despite the lack of resources and technology. He challenged the audience to do the same thing and become an inspiration to their fellow youth.



The last part of his talk was a mini-workshop on public speaking. But instead of the conventional tips and techniques on public speaking, the VoiceMaster dove straight into the heart of public speaking. He enlightened the audience about why people fear and struggle with public speaking. Through some activities, he taught the audience how to practice spontaneity, which he considers to be the number one skill needed in public speaking. Lastly, he gave 4 strategies to engage the audience during a speech: stories, humor, involvement and pause.

Towards the end, the VoiceMaster encouraged the participants to see public speaking as a venue where they could inspire and contribute towards positive social change.

The VoiceMaster Inspires his Young Kababayans at the Third Mariveles Youth Congress

The Third Mariveles Youth Congress happened on January 20-21 at the Bataan Convention Center in Mariveles, Bataan. MYC is the gathering of youth leaders and to ensure compliance with the vision of the Province of Bataan and the Municipality of Mariveles. Hundreds of youth leaders and youth-serving organizations attended the event to learn and pitch in on the 4 thematic areas of the congress: health, employment, education and youth participation.



Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales graced the event as one of the speakers, where he talked about the role of the youth in nation building. As a proud native of Mariveles, Pocholo inspired the audience by sharing his own personal journey – from discovering his talent as a young boy growing up in the province, to traveling all over the country to inspire, motivate and empower his fellow Filipinos. He talked about how he got his break in the voice acting industry, which was powered by the simple dream of hearing his voice on the radio greeting his mother on air. He then went on to share how that simple dream propelled him to bigger and greater heights in the voice acting industry, until he became the most recognized and respected voice artist in the country.  Of course, the audience were not left empty-handed as the VoiceMaster entertained them with his ensemble of character voices.

Pocholo also spoke about his work as the Filipino Futurist. He talked about technology and how it has greatly influenced the way people live and function everyday, especially the youth, the so-called ‘millennials’. Having been working with young people for 20 years, Pocholo has recognized the youth’s behavior, lifestyle and mindset, and has adapted to an effective way to communicate with them. He encouraged the parents and the teachers in the audience to have a more open mind when it comes to leading today’s youth, in order for them to reach their full potential.



Pocholo talked about the beginnings of his 20-year experience as an internationally-awarded youth advocate. He shared to and encouraged the audience to join local and international youth programs, in order to expand their mind and their network, and so that they can contribute to positive social change. He challenged the youth to live a life of passion and purpose, and to not succumb to the idea of studying in order to graduate and get a good job. “Being a youth is a gift that one day will be taken away from you,” were the wise words of the VoiceMaster. So he encouraged the participants to believe in their dreams and act on it immediately.

Pocholo’s talk in MYC is one of his most memorable, as it is his first speaking engagement where his entire family – his parents and his sister – were present to watch.



Also included in the speaker lineup were Senator Bam Aquino, Perci Cendana, Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion, and Congressman Joet Garcia. MYC was spearheaded by the Municipal Government of Mariveles to promote a unified approach to the formulation of Local Youth Development Plan (LYDP) for the municipality.

The VoiceMaster Shifts the Youth’s Financial Mindset at the 6th Thomasian National Finance Summit

The Junior Finance Executives of University of Sto. Tomas conducted its 6^th National Finance Summit on January 14, 2017. Over 900 students flocked the St. Martin de Porres Medicine Auditorium for a whole-day event of learning about investing, business and financial management.



Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was the last speaker for the event, who spoke about “The Future of Entrepreneurship.” The VoiceMaster’s hour-long talk started at a high energy, especially with his icebreakers, hugot lines and ensemble of character voices. He then proceeded to sharing the story of his entrepreneurial journey in the voice acting industry – first as a freelancer, until he eventually built his own voiceover company. He talked about how he opened the first voice acting school in the country, and how it opened the door of the voice acting industry to all who aspire to become part of it.

The rest of Pocholo’s talk was about motivating the audience to shift their mindset when it comes to money and business.  As a futurist, he talked about how technology will continue to evolve and will exponentially change the way business and money are handled. He then encouraged the audience to go beyond working for money and instead work for MEANING. “Before you manage your finances, you should first manage your life” were the wise words of the VoiceMaster, as he talked about living a life of passion and purpose.



Pocholo’s story is in itself a testimony of how being driven by passion and purpose will help anyone push forward regardless of the struggles that come their way. His journey in the voice acting industry was met with challenges and frustrations, but Pocholo stayed true to his vision, and that empowered him to get to where he is today.

In the end, Pocholo motivated the students to seek their life purpose, and to use their passion – and not money – as their motivation to succeed in life.

The VoiceMaster Inspires Aspiring Young Entrepreneurs at the First National Youth Business Convention

The University of the Philippines Business League, together with 16 other university-based organizations, conducted the first-ever National Youth Business Convention on January 12-14. The 3-day convention was filled with seminars and activities to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit in the Filipino youth, and is envisioned to be the apex of youth business summits. Each day of the convention was held in different venues to accommodate the activities prepared for each day.



Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales capped off the second day of the summit with a motivational talk about the future of entrepreneurship. Held at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati, the talk was attended by over 200 delegates who were preparing for their case presentation for the last day.

Pocholo shared his knowledge and experience in entrepreneurship, as a Go Negosyo Angelpreneur, and a proponent of Youth Entrepreneurship through his advocacy Negosyo Kabataan. He shared the story of how he discovered his talent in voice, and how his passion for voice acting became the fuel to establish not only his own voiceover company, but also his voice acting school which is the first in the Philippines. Pocholo talked about his challenges and struggles as a young entrepreneur in 2005, and how he was able to navigate through those experiences through passion, dedication and commitment.



As the Filipino Futurist, Pocholo gave the audience a glimpse of the future, especially in the world of business. He recapped some of the major trends and advancements seen today and how technology has greatly changed the way business is done – with things like artificial intelligence, cloud storage and smart gadgets.

Pocholo then posed the question “So, what kind of business will you start?” to the audience, and challenged them to think beyond the purpose of making money. He encouraged the audience to build a business with passion, purpose and legacy, to ‘future-proof’ themselves in the world of business.



In the end, the participants of the NYBC were given a fresh new perspective on what it means to become an entrepreneur.
